Laura Bush made same point on Bill O'Reilly that Eric Alterman makes in What Liberal Media? -- that there is too much opinion and not enough fact in 24/7 media machine. Alterman called it the "punditocracy"--where everyone from Al Franken to Rush Limbaugh has an opinion about everything.
Still, it was a little bit disingenuous--given that, as the Bryan Keefer argues in the Columbia Journalism Review, her husband's campaign, and John Kerry's, have yet to see a fact they couldn't spin. It's as if McDonald's were to complain that people are getting fat from eating fastfood cheeseburgers.
Spare me, as my dad would say.
