One line in this Chicago Tribune article about Burton Nelson says it all.

"Burton Nelson was a true Christian," said Marcia Sachs Littell, executive director of the annual Scholars' Conference on the Holocaust and the Churches, in which Dr. Nelson had participated since 1970.
